What you need to know
The Crossroads are getting bigger.
Developer Supergiant Games unveiled the first major content update forHades 2early access on Wednesday. Fittingly titled the Olympic Update, this is well beyond thesmaller updates that have previously been rolled out, with a bevy of new content including additional story beats, a new surface location, a new boss fight, and a wild new weapon for Melinoe to wield against the forces of Chronos.
It’s that latter point that has me the most excited, as it appears to be some kind of magical mech-suit-esque device? I need to try it out right now. You can check out an overview trailer for the Hades 2 Olympic Update below:
Best of all, the Olympic Update is now available, meaning you can hop in and download the patch right now throughSteamor theEpic Games Store.
Further down, you’ll find thefull patch notesfor the Olympic Update, though beware minor spoilers, especially if you haven’t finished everything currently available in Hades 2 early access. Fair warning, this update was seemingly named because there’s asheer mountain of patch notesto go through. If you’d prefer to listen to the patch notes, you canenjoy some narration here.
The next major update for Hades 2 is currently planned to arrive at some point in early 2025. The full game still does not have an exact release date, but when it does, I’ll be sure to let you know.
