Here’s How to Get the New Copilot App on Windows 11 Right Now!
After the Surface event and MS Build 2024, Microsoft released the first preview of Windows 11 version 24H2 recently. Introduced to Insiders in the Release Preview channel,Build 26100.712brings a new Copilot app to Windows 11, among other things. I got access to the new Copilot app on Windows 11, and it’sactually a web appwhich is not surprising given Microsoft’s recent history.
The app interface is similar to the newChatGPT app on macOS. Microsoft says the newGPT-4o model, natural voice conversation, and vision capability are coming to Windows 11 pretty soon. In a few weeks, you will be able to share your screen and the Copilot app can assist you with several tasks including playing games, coding, and more.
I have successfully extracted the new Copilot app fromWindows 11 version 24H2and installed it on my PC which is running the 23H2 version. You can even install the new Copilot app onWindows 10(Build 19041 or later), as I discovered the minimum OS version inside the app manifest file. Make sure you have Microsoft Edge installed on your PC.
Basically, you don’t have to join any insider channel to experience the Copilot app on Windows 11 or 10. Here is how to download and install the Copilot app right away.
Download and Install the Copilot App on Windows 11 and 10
So this is how you can download the Copilot app and install it on your Windows 11 and 10 PC. One of the noteworthy changes is that Copilot is no longer in preview. I am eagerly waiting for theGPT-4o modeland natural voice conversation mode along with the screen sharing capability.
