Harrison Ford Revives a Legendary Character in Captain America Brave New World
Cinemacon 2024 once again amazed us with another much-sought-after appearance by Harrison Ford in Captain America: Brave New World, another major project by Marvelafter Deadpool and Wolverine. It was revealed a long time back that Harrison Ford is going to take the place of the late William Hurt as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
However, after that, we did not receive any updates on Ford’s character, and no one expected to see it before the trailer release of Captain America: Brave New World. But, Disney’s panel at Cinemacon 2024 changed that, and today, we get a first look at Harrison Ford as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross.
According to a report by DiscussingFilm, the clip shown by Disney at Cinemacon 2024 offered a look at Anthony Mackie as Captain America being attacked in the White House along with Ford as Thunderbolt Ross, who is now the President
We also get to see Sam Wilson and Ross having a conversation where Sam makes a meta-joke on Thunderbolt Ross’ recast saying“I’m not used to the new look.”
The clip also revealed thatRoss wants Sam to rebuild the Avengers(yes, finally) based on the events of Falcon and The Winter Soldier. In the following scene, Harrison Ford as Ross talks about a “discovery of the millennia,“found by Sam on a mission as seen in the image fromEntertainment Weekly.
We will get to know about this mission in Captain America: Brave New World when it releases on February 14, 2025. In the clip, a Secret Service agent named Isaiah gets triggered by a word all of a sudden and then tries to assassinate the President in a possessed state, just like the Winter Soldier.
In another scene, we see Sam fighting a group of individuals wielding electrical weapons. In the middle of the fight, Ross says, “You’re not Steve Rogers,” to which Sam replies,“You’re right. I’m not.”The clip ends with a look at the back of Captain America’s suit.
So, these are all the important things about Captain America: Brave New World we got to see at the Cinemacon event. As of now, there is no tentative release date for the trailer of this movie but as far as I think, this clip will be a huge part of it. We will update you as soon as the trailer drops, so stay tuned!
