Dark Pokemon Strength, Weakness, and Resistance
Chances are, you’ve always had a Dark Pokemon in your inventory but never utilized its strengths and weaknesses. We don’t blame you since knowing everything about all Pokemon types is next to impossible. Thankfully, we are here for that. So keep reading as we tell you all about dark Pokemon weaknesses, strengths, and resistance so you may win your next battle!
Dark Pokemon Strengths
Let’s first discuss the strength properties of a Dark-type Pokemon. When first introduced in the second generation games, a dark-type would be formidable against aGhost andPsychic-typePokemon. This means if you make your Umbreon fight against a Gengar or an Abra, there’s a high chance of your Poki’s attack dealing double damage.
Since there’s been no chance since then, the dark-type strengths remain the same. In the case of Gengar, they’ll take four times the damage. Gengar is a dual type, belonging to Ghost and Psychic. Hence, your Dark-type will incapacitate them successfully with some well-placed combos.
Dark Pokemon Weaknesses
Unlike their strengths, Dark Pokemon have had two variations to their weaknesses in two instances. When first introduced in the second-generation games, they were weak againstBug Pokemonand Fighting type Pokemon. This means a Hitmonlee and Scyther will incapacitate your Umbreon with a lot of ease.
However, when the sixth generation of games launched, the weaknesses were tweaked to include the Fairy type as a weakness. Hence, from the sixth generation onwards, Dark Pokemon is weak againstFighting,Bug, andFairy-typePokemon. This means your Umbreon will now be weak against a Clefairy and Jigglypuff.
Dark Pokemon Resistance
Regarding their resistance, a Dark type has had theirs unchanged throughout the generations. Like its strengths, the Dark type can resist special attacks from aGhost-type. However, it can also resist any attacks coming from afellow Dark-type. Hence, if your Umbreon is up against another Umbreon or a Gengar, they will resist their attacks without any problems.
With this, you now know all about dark Pokemon’s weaknesses, strengths, and resistance. So, what dark Pokemon do you have in your team? Let us know in the comments below!
