Applejust announced the refresh of its popular iMac desktop PC with the new Apple M4 chip, as well as an AI boost from Apple Intelligence.
The new iMac M4 also comes with some new tweaks this go around, including some updated specs beyond the new processor, some new colors, and an improved display, making it a surefire winner for Apple just ahead of the holiday season.
Even better, you won’t have to wait long to get your hands on the new desktop, with preorders starting today.

Apple iMac: Price
The new Apple iMac M4 starts at $1,299 / £1,299 / AU$1,999 for an 8-core CPU/8-core GPU M4 chip, 16GB Unified Memory, and 256GB PCIe SSD. This is a $100 / £100 / AU$200 price drop from the Apple M3 iMac from last year, and with the improved specs, this is definitely a much better value, even without factoring in the improved M4 chip.
You can get up to 24GB memory and 1TB storage with the 8-core M4 chip, along with Gigabit ethernet, for $1,929 / £1,929/ AU$2,939.
You can configure the iMac to include a 10-core CPU/10-core GPU option (which included Gigabit internet) as well starting at $1,499 / £1,499 / AU$2,399, and with 32GB memory and 2TB storage, you’ll pay $2,699 / £2,699 / AU$4,199.

The iMac M4 is available for preorder right now, and deliveries will begin on November 8, 2024, the same day the new desktop will be available for purchase in stores.
